Pieke Bergmans describes her body of work by calling it 'Design Virus', a term indicating that her creative mind could enter any field that offers opportunities. Her main interest, however, lies with the process of manufacturing. By experimenting with this process, she achieves extraordinary results; each of them unique, even when producing 'useful' series.
Pieke has collaborated with different craftsmen and designers. Her work has been shown in various Design Fairs and has been reviewed by famous magazines, such as Domus, Archis, Vogue, iDESIGN amongst others. Moreover, she was mentioned in the International Design Yearbook 2007. Bergmans has had solo exhibitions in Milan, Paris, Miami and Sao Paulo.
As major work series we distinguish: Phenomeneon (2015), Metamorphosis (2012), Light Blubs (2008), Massive Infection (Droog Design 2008), Big Mama (2008), Crystal Virus (2005-2008), Vitra Virus (2007), Unlimited Edition (2007), Utopia Infected (2006-2007), Reunion Vases (Rosenthal 2005), Taped Vases (Rosenthal 2005)
